His Holiness the Dalai Lama's visit to Chandrakirti Meditation Center
His Holiness named and opened our meditation hall and
consecrated the Long Life Stupa on May 29, 2002. His Holiness named
the hall "Nalanda" after noticing a text by the great Nalanda
sitting on a table when he visited Chandrakirti Centre. It appears that
Chandrakirti Centre has a strong connection with the ancient Nalanda
University, home to the great masters, Nagarjuna and Chandrakirti. Hence
our gurus encourage us to study and meditate on the emptiness teachings
coupled with great compassion.
